Richard Irl George, 51, of Wichita, passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at a Wichita hospital. He was born on July 6, 1959, the son of Irl J. and Pauline L. Kruger George.
He graduated from Shawnee Heights High School in May of 1978. Richard attended Emporia State University and graduated from Washburn University where he obtained a BS Degree in Political Science. He served in the U.S. Navy.
Richard is survived by his parents, his friend and companion, Joseph Patterson, his sister, Lucinda (Eric) Burnett, niece, Melinda (Cody) Recob and two grand nieces, Claire Leotamarie and Brittney Elaine Recob.
Cremation has taken place and private inurnment will take place in Pleasant Hill Cemetery southeast of Topeka. Memorial contributions may be given to Kansas Children's Service League, 3545 SW 5th St., Topeka, KS 66606 or the Donna Sweet Emergency Fund, 1001 N. Minneapolis, Wichita, KS 67214.
