She was born February 3, 1949 in Hannibal, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents Philip J. Wheelhouse and Shirley D. Wheelhouse.
Sandi graduated Lawrence High School in 1967 and the University of Kansas with a BSE in 1971. She taught elementary school in Blue Mound, Circleville, and Onaga, Kansas for 30 years and taught for the Peace Corps in Jordan for 2 years.
Survivors include her brother, Steven Wheelhouse, Haysville, KS; three children, Karla K Anderson, Gardner, KS; Todd P. (Geri) Sauvage and “Tony” Karl A. (Angie) Sauvage, all of Onaga, KS; seven grandchildren, La’Cacia, Jazmine, Trycin, Marissa, Mady, Joley, and Trace; and one great-grandchild, Beckham.
Visitation will begin at 9am followed by a memorial service at 10am on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Onaga Area Community Center, 100 Union Pacific Dr, Onaga, KS 66521.
Sandi made the selfless decision to donate to Midwest Transplant Network.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Topeka & Shawnee Co. Public Library, Dolly Parton Imagination Library, 1515 SW 10th, Topeka, KS 66604.
