Zoemel Colette Reed

Zoemel Colette (Collins) Reed, 72, of Topeka, passed away peaceful Monday, March 2, 2026.

She was born November 16, 1953, in Texarkana, Arkansas, the daughter of Elon and Delores Collins. She graduated from Highland Park High School.

Zoemel dedicated a number of years at the Quinton Heights Elementary School in food service.

She was a faithful member of Faith Temple Church of Topeka. She enjoyed singing in the church choir and being apart of the Sunday school classes.

Zoemel married George Henry Reed and they enjoyed over 50 years of marriage together. She is survived by her husband, George Reed; her children, Tiffany Reed and George Reed, Jr; her sister in law, Miriam Hysten and her brother in laws, Ernest Reed, Jr., and Alfred Thomas Reed. She was preceded in death by her parents.

She will be remembered as a loving and faithful wife and mother.

Zomel's family will greet friends and relatives from 5:00pm-700: pm on Friday, March 13, 2026 at Penwell Gabel Funeral Home, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS 66604. A funeral service will be at 10:00am on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at Faith Temple Church, 1162 SW Lincoln St, Topeka, KS 66604. She will be laid to rest at Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka, KS.
