Yolanda Marie Duran, 65, of Topeka, Kansas passed away on April 16th, 2026. Born on September 24th, 1960, the daughter of Alvino and Guadalupe Duran (Martinez), Yolanda’s life was marked by her dedication and kindness to all who knew her.
Growing up she attended Highland Park High School where she participated as a cheerleader. Even if she was unable to tell the difference between a touchdown or a goal, she was enthusiastic never-the-less.
Her lifelong dedication to health care was more than a job, it was a calling. She forged meaningful relationships and connections that left lasting impressions on those fortunate enough to be in her care. Yolanda’s presence brought comfort and hope, embodying the true essence of service.
Yet above all else, the center of Yolanda’s heart was her family, especially her 3 grandchildren. She took every opportunity she could to spend time with them. Whether it was watching movies, or learning to play Halo, time cherished with her grandchildren meant everything to her.
Survivors include her sons, Armando Duran-Ortega and Cesar Duran-Ortega, her daughter-in-law, Maura Duran-Ortega, brothers Daniel Duran and Mario Duran, sister, Debbie Duran, and 3 grandchildren, Jesyka Garcia, Greyson Duran-Ortega, and Victoria Duran-Ortega.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Elaine Housholder, parents Alvino Duran and Guadalupe Martinez, and brother, Nick Duran.
