Virginia Lee Haff, 75, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025, at
The Gardens at Aldersgate.
Virginia was born on October 12, 1950, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Albert Oscar Wyrick and
Gertrude Olivette (Thomas) Wyrick. She grew up in a large, close-knit family alongside 14
brothers and sisters, where she learned the importance of love, hard work, and resilience from a
very young age–values that stayed with her throughout her life.
Virginia dedicated the majority of her working life to caring for others. She worked as a
cosmetologist for many years, providing hair services at locations including the Hairport and
Brandon Woods Retirement Community. Beyond cosmetology, Virginia devoted herself to
care giving, assisting elderly individuals with shopping, cooking, cleaning, and companionship.
She remained by their sides even through their final moments. Caring for others was not just her
profession, it was her calling. Virginia spent her life making others feel valued, comforted, and
happy.
Virginia was married to George Haff, with whom she raised her three beloved children: Heaven
Love, Skyland Love, and Boni “Sunshine” Mattson. Being a mother was one of the greatest joys
of her life, and her love for her children was unwavering.
She is survived by her children; Heaven Love, Skyland Love, and Boni (Sunshine) Mattson,
brothers; James Wyrick, Albert Wyrick, Billy Wyrick, Ronnie Wyrick, Floyd Wyrick, John Wyrick,
and Tom Wyrick, sisters; Sharon Beggs, Doris Eastland, Boni Jacobs, Margie Wheeler, and
Cindy Ramdorsingh, along with extended family members and many friends whose lives she
touched through her kindness and selflessness.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; Albert Oscar Wyrick and Gertrude Olivette
Wyrick, sister; Dixie Latin, brother; Richard Wyrick, nephews; Travis Latin, and Jacob
Wyrick, and niece; Chatta Eastland.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., with visitation
