Vernon Dean Madorin, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on April 22, 2025, at Midland Care Hospice, at the age of 87. Born on May 28, 1937, in Valley Falls, Kansas, Vernon lived a life marked by hard work, kindness, and a genuine love for his family.

For over 30 years, Vernon worked as a digger and foreman for the Kansas Gas Company, earning respect and admiration from his colleagues. He was not just an employee but a dedicated craftsman, known for his exceptional skills and reliability. After retiring, he continued to apply his talents as a handyman, helping to remodel homes, showcasing his passion for fixing and improving his surroundings.

Vernon was a man of many layers, described as very friendly and outgoing but also capable of quiet reflection. He was a jack of all trades, adept at repairing anything that went awry at home. His kindness and willingness to assist others endeared him to all fortunate enough to know him.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, Vernon served two years. His dedication extended beyond the realm of work; he found great joy in his hobbies and interests. A fishing enthusiast, Vernon cherished the moments he spent by the water. He was particularly proud to watch the Washburn Girl's Softball games, where he cheered on his daughter, Gail, who played for the team. His involvement didn’t stop there; he took immense pride in going as far as to coach her in softball, sharing valuable lessons and unforgettable memories.

Vernon is survived by his beloved wife, Janet Madorin; his daughter, Gail Madorin; sons, Carl and Martin Madorin; grandchildren, Morgan, Jared, and Makayla Coffey, Camden and Makayla Madorin; and his sister, Carolyn. His legacy of love, support, and generosity will resonate through the lives of his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Esther Madorin; brothers, Clarence, Raymond, and Donald Madorin; and sister, Ruth Boten. Their memories will be forever cherished alongside those of Vernon.

As we remember Vernon Dean Madorin, we celebrate a life rich in love and warmth, a true testament to the bonds of family and friendship. His spirit will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
