Thomas Grant Houston

Thomas Grant Houston, 55, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2025. He was born September 12, 1970 in Topeka, KS, the son of Calvin Houston and Joyce Storer-May.

Thomas is known by his friends and family as Tommy. Tommy was the proud owner of the The Groove Shack for 32 years. In addition, he was a property investor and a realtor.

He enjoyed playing poker and disc golf.

He married Tracy Mercer on May 21, 1994. 

He is survived by his wife, Tracy Houston; his siblings, Cindy Steinebach and Roger Houston; nieces and nephews, Nikki Steinebach, Abraham Steinebach, Kyler Steinebach, Jesse Houston and Dylan Mercer, as well as several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, December 12, 2025 at Penwell Gabel Funeral Home, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS 66604. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Family will have a private graveside service at Hoyt Cemetery.
