Stephanie Diane Switzer, a cherished soul known for her warm laughter and loving spirit, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2026, in Topeka, KS. She was born on February 13, 1973, in Kennett, MO.

Stephanie was a dedicated school-based liaison, a role through which she touched countless lives with her compassion, patience, and sincere dedication to helping students navigate their mental health journeys. Her commitment to supporting others was deeply rooted in her own experiences and the values she held dear.

A proud graduate of Kennett High School, Stephanie's pursuit of education led her to the College of the Ozarks, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in education. Her love for learning extended beyond academics; she was an avid reader who found joy in crime shows and had a particular fondness for watching her daughter play volleyball. Which led her to owning her own volleyball club. Stephanie’s vibrant personality shined brightest during moments of humor—her infectious laughter and delight in funny memes brought endless joy to those around her.

Stephanie’s heart was also home to a love for her animals Titus, Leia, Boomer, and Harper. She enjoyed staying connected through Facebook, where her daily selfies became a small window into her life filled with joy and sharing her day to day life with friends. FaceTiming with friends and family was one of the many ways she nurtured her close relationships.

Her travels included a memorable study abroad experience in the Netherlands, a chapter that added richness and perspective to her life’s story. Above all, Stephanie treasured her time with her daughter, Eden—a bond that was a source of tremendous happiness and strength.

Stephanie leaves behind her beloved daughter, Eden Switzer; her parents, Samuel and Diana (West) Branum; her sister, Shawn (Michael) Stewart; her brother, Alfonso (Susie) Cortez, and her stepmother, Regina Henry. She was preceded in death by her loving grandparents, William Oscar West and Daisy West, and her husband.

In her honor, memorial contributions may be made to the YWCA of Northeast Kansas, 225 SW 12th Street, Topeka, KS 66612.
