Stephanie Sue Smith-Pepper

October 23, 1961 — January 5, 2022

Stephanie Sue Smith-Pepper gained her angel wings on January 5th, 2022 at The University of Kansas Health Systems, St. Francis in Topeka, KS. She was just 60 years old. Stephanie's life would seem too short to many, but those of us who were blessed to be touched by her understand that her time with us and the imprint she left on our hearts exceed the quantity of time that she stayed here. Words overflow like a fountain for Stephanie, a wife, daughter, sister, mother/mother in law, grandmother and friend who lived a beautiful life from start to end. Stephanie was a dedicated, hard working woman, so full of life and loved by so many.

Stephanie was talented in so many aspects of her life. She loved music, she loved to paint, boy did she love to do that. She loved to work with her hands and create beautiful pieces of art. She was a very crafty lady who always had a project going on and if she was not working on something, she was looking for that next thing to do. She had a passion for the sport of pool, she played it often and was good at it. She has several medals, trophies, and other rewards for her talent in the sport. But, most importantly Stephanie was a terrific wife, mom and mother in law. Her husband, children and her grandchildren were her life. There was never a day that went by where she didn't brag about them, especially those grandkids, she was so proud of them in all that they did.

Stephanie is survived by her parents Carroll & Sharon Smith of Topeka, KS, her husband, Roger Pepper of Topeka, KS, her two children and their spouses, Brandon Combes (Sheree) of Carbondale, KS, Ashley Knight (Christopher) of Topeka, KS, her brother Steve Smith (Laurie) of Topeka, a nephew Nicholas Smith (Nichole) of Hoyt, KS, her three step children, Kelsea Taylor (David) of Kansas City, KS, Garrett Pepper (Sophie) of Wichita, KS , Bailey Pepper of Bellingham, WA, her six grandchildren Kadence Combes-Jeffries (18), Bryce Combes (14), Aivah Knight (10), Caden Knight (7), Ryder Combes (7), and Dakota Combes (4), her 2 step grandchildren Charlotte Taylor (4), and Carson Taylor (1), along with many friends who love her. Stephanie was preceded in death by her brother Scott Smith.
