Shannon Leigh McGuire, a woman of unwavering love for her family and friends, was born on August 21, 1973, in Osborne, Kansas. She passed away on December 27, 2025 surrounded by loved ones.
Shannon grew up on the family farm, an experience that instilled in her a deep appreciation for the great outdoors and shaped her lively spirit. She was educated at Osborne Elementary and Smith Center Elementary, proudly graduating from Smith Center High School in 1991. Those who knew her would often describe her as feisty, fearless, and fiercely protective of those she loved.
Her love for life was reflected in her early years when she worked at Jiffy Burger during her high school days, where she started to develop her strong work ethic. Throughout her career, Shannon brought dedication and passion to her roles at Classic Eagle, O'Malley Beverage Company, and Western First Aid and Safety.
In addition to her professional life, Shannon had a plethora of interests and hobbies that brought her joy. She took great pleasure in practicing Pilates, playing tennis, and swimming. Her love for animals was profound, particularly for dogs, as she actively adopted from the humane society and made it a mission to provide a loving home for those in need.
Shannon is survived by her devoted husband, Chris Adams, of Topeka, Kansas. She cherished her family deeply, including her mother and step-father, Brenda (Reed) Stahn, and her siblings: Jeremy (Jessica) McGuire of Hays, Kansas; Allison (Mark Spears) McGuire of Lucas, Kansas; David Sturgeon (Donel) of Plainville, Kansas; Rose Sturgeon of Denver, Colorado; Tom (Ronda) McGuire of Independence, Missouri; Shelly (Bill) McGuire-Herbert of Belton, Missouri; Cindy (Alan) Poore of Alton, Kansas; Toby (Jodi) Boyle of Smith Center, Kansas; Matt (Carly Stahn) of Des Moines, Iowa; and Will Stahn of Lincoln, Nebraska; and her mother in law, Beth (Wayne) Kalsow of Markesan, WI. Shannon was preceded in death by her father, Richard McGuire.
