Ruth Johnson Hodges, 99, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025 at Brewster Place in Topeka, KS. Mrs. Hodges was born in Agenda, Kansas, on October 21, 1925, the daughter of James M. Johnson and Lula Beeman Johnson.

She grew up in Washington, Kansas and graduated from Washington High School. She moved to Topeka in 1944 where she worked as a dental technician at Winter General Hospital and later for a dental surgeon.

She was a Cub Scout Den Mother for many years. She was a member and former Steward of Westminster Presbyterian Church, a member of Chapter CS of P.E.O., and a former member of Shawnee Country Club, the Woman’s Club, and Beta Delta and Xi Alpha Alpha chapters of Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She also enjoyed playing bridge and bowling.

She married Richard H. Hodges in Topeka in 1947. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Hodges, her son Randall J. Hodges, granddaughter Merrilee Hodges, and sister Lillian M. Peterson.

Other survivors include two sons, Robert Hodges of Manhattan Beach, California, and Steven Hodges of Naperville, Illinois, nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Her ashes will be inurned at Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka, KS.
