Robert L Edwards, 91, entered paradise February 5, 2026 while under hospice care at FW Huston Senior Living Center in Winchester, Kansas. Bob was the son of FG and Gertrude (Mulinax) Edwards, born May 24, 1934 in Oskaloosa, Kansas. He was a student of Valley Falls schools, graduating in 1952. On January 1, 1953 Bob married Alice Jeanne Shaver. They moved to Topeka, Kansas in 1954 and lived there for 65 years. She preceded him in death April 23, 2018.

Bob is survived by four children: Robb (Gayle), Overland Park, KS; Elaine (David Berry), Taylor, TX; Harold (Jackie) Hutchinson, KS; Aileen Edwards Finney, Topeka, eight grandchildren: Emily (Glenn) Caricato, SD; Ryan (Lisa) Edwards, Olathe, KS; Tim (Kelly) Edwards, Overland Park, KS; Carrianne Bernatis (Andy Dierschke), New Braunfels, TX; Justin (Crystal) Edwards, AK; Brandon Edwards (Meghan), Mulvane, KS; James Edwards, Wichita, KS; and Loghan Finney, Kansas City, MO. Nine great-grandchildren survive: Meghan Bangert and Cooper Budt, Emma, Isabella and Timothy Edwards, Sean and Andrew Edwards, Tristan Berryhill, Lily Abbott and two great-great grandchildren: Emmerson and Jack Bangert. He also leaves behind his dear companion, Elizabeth Littleton-Farr of Valley Falls, KS.

Bob began working at 17 for the railroad, replacing ties after the Great Flood of 1951 that decimated Northeast Kansas. When he and Jeanne moved to Topeka, he worked for Meadow Gold Dairy until he entered the plumbing profession. Bob was a plumber for 25 years, after completing the former Union Local 165 Plumber Pipe Fitter Apprenticeship program in Topeka. He was a long-time employee of Patterson Plumbers who worked on the Old Farm Subdivision in Topeka. Bob owned and operated Edwards Floor Maintenance for 25 years. He worked in Temperature Control for the State of Kansas for 13 years, retiring at 65. He did not care for retirement and drove for Aries Dental Lab for 11 years.

Bob and Jeanne were members of Community Baptist Church and later, First Baptist Church in Topeka. Bob was active as a Deacon, Usher and anywhere he could serve and be of help.

A private family memorial service was held at Mount Hope Cemetery Chapel, Topeka, KS.
