Richard H. Tinker

Richard H. Tinker, 86, of Topeka, passed away Monday, January 8, 2024.

He was born June 16, 1937, in Weymouth, Massachusetts, the son of Harvey and Margaret (Haddad) Tinker. He graduated from Rockland High School in 1955.

Following graduation, Richard joined the United States Air Force. He dedicated 20 years of his life to his country and retired in 1975.

Richard married Janice Dilley on October 21, 1960 in Topeka, Kansas.

After retiring from the military, Richard went to work for the Kansas Turnpike. He worked his way up to becoming a supervisor and retired after 20 years.

Richard and his wife, Janice, were members of the Oakland United Methodist Church, of Topeka.
In his spare time, he enjoyed going to the casino.

Survivors include grandchildren, Jamie (Andy) Tillman, Troy (Lesley) McCracken, Brian (Shannon) McCracken and Casey Keithley; eleven great grandchildren and his siblings, Jim and Lorraine. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice; his children, Robin Keithley, James Tinker and Debra Pack and his parents.

A memorial ceremony will be held at 10:00 am., Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Penwell- Gabel Funeral Home, 1321 SW 10th Avenue, Topeka, Kansas 66604. He will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery following the service.
