Listen to Obituary

Patricia Ann Cook, 77, of Topeka, passed away on January 10, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on April 16, 1948, to Paul and Bernadette (Zeimet) Weber at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Patricia spent her childhood surrounded by family, with many trips to visit her aunts, uncles, and cousins in the upper region of the United States. Several of her childhood years were spent living in Germany with her family while her father Paul was in the Korean conflict. From an early age, Patricia developed a deep appreciation for caring for others, a value that stayed with her throughout her life. She was known for her strong work ethic and quiet determination.

Patricia worked as a paraprofessional, where she dedicated her career to supporting students and educators with patience, compassion, and kindness. She took great pride in her work and found purpose in helping children succeed, always offering encouragement and a steady presence to those who needed it most. It was during her time as a paraprofessional that Patricia (Pat) met her dear friend, Carol Palmer, a friendship she cherished with her whole heart.

On October 8, 1989, she married Larry Cook. Together, Patricia and Larry made their home in Topeka, Kansas, where she built a life centered around family, love, and devotion. As a wife, mother, and grandmother, Patricia found her greatest joy in time spent with those she loved. She cherished family gatherings, holidays, and everyday moments, and her love for her family was unwavering.

Grandma’s house was a place of love, laughter, and countless sleepovers. She was always planning fun activities, crafts, and special traditions that her grandchildren eagerly looked forward to. Patricia was deeply involved in their lives and created memories that will be cherished forever. To her grandchildren, she was a source of comfort, joy, and unconditional love, and the bond she shared with them was truly one of a kind.

Patricia is survived by her sons, Daniel (Tina) Moison and James (Amy) Moison; her granddaughter, Katie (Noah Thompson) Moison; her grandsons, Tyler (Hannah) Moison, Clayton Moison, Dayton Moison, and her great-grandson, Thomas Moison.

She was preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life, Larry Cook; her father, Paul E. Weber; and her mother, Bernadette L. Weber.
