Otis Owen Connell

Just 2 days shy of his 85th birthday, Otis Owen Connell left us to be with his maker and love of his life. Otis was born September 30, 1941 in Clayton, New Mexico. In 1959 he joined the United States Air Force. He served our country as a mechanic in the Phillipines and lastly in Topeka Kansas at Forbes Air Force Base. At that time he met and married Judy Kay Rowe August 15, 1962. Otis finished his tour with the Air Force and he and Judy settled in Topeka. In 1968 Otis started his career with Sante Fe Railroad as a computer operator. Over a few years he became a self taught computer programmer with Sante Fe. In 2002, he retired.

Otis was a talented wood worker and enjoyed bowling, golf and reading.He is proceded in death by his parents Andrew and Gracie June, his wife Judy and brother Johnny.

He leaves behind his sisters, Evelyn Van Deventer, Ann Barnhart, Susan Booth (Murray) and his brother Roger Connell (Sheila) all in Amarillo TexasAlso left behind are his children Christine Smith (Dave), Berryton, Kansas, Elizabeth Connell (Ray), Benton Arkansas, Donna Connell (Conrad), Hoyt, Kansas, and Jason Connell (Mindy) Rosssville, Kansas. He had eight grandchildren, William Van Cleave (Sara), Topeka, Samantha Battles, Benton, Arkansas, Alexandrea Battles, Benton, Arkansas, Jessica Baker (John), Holton, Kansas, Michelle Grayson, Topeka, Christopher Connell (Ally), Topeka, Braden Connell, Topeka, Dawson Connell, Wakarusa, Kansas. He had 7 great grandchildren.

A memorial graveside service will take place on Monday, October 5th at 11:00 AM at Memorial Park Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th Ave, Topeka, KS 66606.
