Mary M. Roever

Mary M. Roever, age 84, of Topeka, Kansas passed away on Sunday, September 27th, 2026 surrounded by love.

She was born on May 20th, 1942 in Bunker Hill, Indiana, the daughter of Harry August William and Meta (Buth) Middendorf.

Growing up, she attended Wheaton, Kansas high school and graduated with the class of 1960.

On December 14th, 1963 she married her best friend and the love of her life, William Roever. Together they spent more than 62 wonderful years together. As a couple, the two enjoyed traveling and camping all over the United States in their motor home. Enjoying the beautiful views of the Teton Mountains and the reflections of the crisp glacier waters. Above all though, family was at the center of Mary’s heart. Every birthday, baptism, wedding, celebration, and all events in between, family was Mary’s world – even if it was simply sitting down for a cup of coffee and catching up.

Mary was an active member at St. John Lutheran Church in Topeka where she was the secretary for 37 years and served on many different organizations.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Roever, two sisters, Lois (Larry) Law and Naomi (Jim) Glynn, one brother, Paul (Debi) Middendorf, as well as many other family and friends, all of whom will miss her very much.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, October 3rd, 2026 at St. John Lutheran Church, 901 SW Fillmore St, Topeka, KS 66606, at 11:00AM, with a visitation one hour prior and a luncheon to follow. Burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th Ave, Topeka, KS 66606, at 2:00PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to either St. John's Lutheran Church or to Midland Care Hospice.
