Martha P. Ozias

Martha Ozias, 77, Topeka, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022.

She was born in Beloit, Kansas on December 20, 1944 to Rev. F. Russell and Gladys O. Pitman.

Martha lived in Simpson, Fredonia, Washington, and Ottawa, Kansas, Cabool, Missouri, Mead, Nebraska, and Schwaebisch Gmuend, Germany with the last 52 years in Topeka, Kansas.

She graduated from Ottawa High School in 1962 and earned her bachelor's degree from Ottawa University, Ottawa, Kansas.

On September 16, 1967, she married Roger Eugene Ozias in Topeka.

She taught in the Topeka schools, and in the Army Dependent School in Schwaebisch Gmuend, Germany. She also worked at the Kansas Baptist Convention as secretary to the State Director of Evangelism, and the State Director of Christian Education, was church Administrator at First Baptist Church, Topeka. For 31 years, she worked at the Kansas Legislature, serving as secretary for several State Representatives and two State Senators, and was a Calendar Clerk for the Senate her last eight years.

Martha is survived by her husband Roger Ozias of the home, daughter Stacey Lynn Ozias of West Plains, Missouri, son Ryan Russell Ozias, his wife Betsy Marie Ozias, and 4 grandchildren of Kansas City, Missouri, plus a much loved cat Buddy. Other survivors include, nieces Cheryl Rae Kipp of Prairie Village, Kansas, Patricia Louise Kipp Skidmore of Wytheville, Virginia and Carol Lee Kipp Caldwell of Savannah, Georgia, as well as numerous cousins and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. F. Russell Pitman and Gladys O. Pitman, Beloit, Kansas and a baby brother, Robert Wayland Pitman.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Topeka Bible Church in the Mulvane Building,1101 SW Mulvane, Topeka, Pastor Brian Hardee, officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
