Margaret Rhodes

Margaret L. Rhodes, 87, Topeka, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2008 at Stormont-Vail Hospital. She was born Oct. 6, 1920 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of John L. and Anna L. Spain Waldon. She graduated from Northeast High School, Kansas City, and from Georgetown University, Washington D.C. in 1949 with a business degree. She came to Topeka in 1984 from Kansas City. Mrs. Rhodes worked as an accounting clerk for the U.S. Government. She was a member of First Christian Church. Her husband, James C. Rhodes died on Sept. 2, 1974. She has no known surviving family members. Cremation is planned. Memorial services will be helkd at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at First Christian Church. Inurnment was in Leavenworth National Cemetery. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
