She was a member of the Miriam Chapter 14 Order of the Eastern Star, of Emporia. She was a majority member of International Order of Jobs Daughters, Bethel #26 of Arkansas City, Kansas. She was also a past guardian of Bethel #57 in Topeka. She was actively involved in many professional educational organizations. She had a special interest in mathematics. After her retirement, she volunteered as a reader in elementary classrooms.
