Lester Brammer, Jr., 73, Topeka, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2012 at a local hospital.
Lester was born May 7, 1938 in Waterville, the son of Lester and Dorothy (Merk) Brammer, Sr. He was raised by his grandparents, Frank and Maude (Dodson) Brammer. He graduated from Waterville High School in 1956.
He was employed as a Security Officer with Kansas State University and then with the Kansas Highway Patrol as a Security Officer with Capital Police, retiring in 2001.
He was a member of Kansas Avenue United Methodist Church, Mayetta Lodge # 393, AF & AM in and the Arab Shriners.
Lester married Arlene Moravek on June 5, 1960. They later divorced. Survivors include daughter, Debra (Dwayne) Dever, Excelsior Springs, MO; sons, Roger (Ginger) Brammer, Missouri City, MO, Mark (Kathleen) Brammer, Grain Valley, MO; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Susan Stude, Sugar Creek, MO; and brothers, Larry Brammer, Waterville, and Richard Brammer, Blue Rapids. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 24, 2012 at Kansas Avenue United Methodist Church. Private family inurnment will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Waterville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
