Keith Owen Duer, 68, of Topeka, Kansas passed away on May 29th, 2026 surrounded by love.

He was born in Manhattan, Kansas on April 28th, 1958, the son of Owen E. and Joyce A. (Lamont) Duer.

He graduated from Manhattan Senior High School in 1976 and went on to attend Kansas State University.

Keith was the manager at K-Mart for many years, this is where he met the love of his life, Cheryll (Ramseier) Duer. They were married on March 14th, 1982 in St. Josepth, MO and had three daughters, Cassy, Kara, and Krystal.

After working for K-Mart, Keith went on to work for the United States Postal Service for more than 24 years where he eventually retired in 2023.

In his spare time, Keith loved to do wood-working, and helped his daughters with many 4-H projects.

He is survived by his three daughters, Cassy, Kara, and Krystal, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife Cheryll, his parents, and his brother, Roy W. Duer.

A visitation will take place on Monday, June 8th from 5:00-7:00PM at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 1321 SW 10th Avenue, Topeka, KS 66614. DUE TO POWER OUTAGE SERVICES HAVE BEEN RELOCATED FROM PENWELL GABEL FUNERAL HOME TO MOUNT HOPE CHAPEL, 4700 SOUTHWEST 17TH STREET, TOPEKA, KANSAS, 66604 Tuesday, June 9th at 10:00AM. Private family burial will take place at Onaga Cemetery in Onaga, Kansas.
