Judy A. Say, a true Child of God, who Loves her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with All of her Heart and Soul, heard God's voice call her home on April 20, 2026, in Topeka, Kansas. Judy is now with her Lord and Savior in Heaven for eternity. The life Judy lived, in and through Jesus Christ, made her a devoted mother, loving friend, and compassionate soul. Born on July 25, 1944, Judy’s life was a tapestry of kindness, generosity, and heartfelt service to others.
Her early years were marked by achievements in education, graduating from Eskridge Rural High School and further honing her skills at Beauty School. Judy began her career as a beautician at Crown Salon. Yet, her greatest calling emerged when she embraced motherhood, lovingly dedicating herself to raising her two sons with unwavering devotion. Her family was the center of her world, and she cherished every moment nurturing them.
Judy’s nurturing spirit extended beyond her family; it was evident in her generous heart that found joy in helping others. Together with Rod, she played a pivotal role in establishing new programs at the Topeka Rescue Mission, opening their home and heart to assist those seeking a path to better living, embodying a true gift from God. Judy's desire for her life to be pleasing to God, led her to earnestly and consistently make great effort in putting Jesus Christ first in all things. Anyone that truly knows Judy would say that her goal has been Achieved!!!, yet Judy lived her entire life being one of the most truly humble individuals that you could ever meet.
Judy was a woman of deep faith, first a member of Lakeview Church of the Nazarene, where she engaged in Women’s Bible study groups and offered her hands in the kitchen ministry. In later years, she found a spiritual home at Wanamaker Woods Church of the Nazarene, continuing to nurture her community with love and grace.
A lover of animals, Judy adored her dog Charlie and was known to be a devoted dog lover. At home, she delighted in cooking and baking, undoubtedly charming anyone lucky enough to taste her culinary creations. She was also an avid customer of QVC.
Those who knew Judy remember her as someone who always put others before herself. Her heart guided her every action, and she was unmatched in offering words of affirmation, never hesitating to share how she felt with earnestness and sincerity. This genuine warmth made her presence a beacon of comfort and encouragement to many.
Judy leaves behind her cherished son, Brian Anthony Say; her brother, Richard Guilfoil and his wife Glenda; along with beloved nieces, Debbie (Tom) Rasser, Cindy Lowe, DeAnna (Rick) Colahan, and nephew, Richard (Beth) Guilfoil, Jr. She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Ruth Guilfoil, father Elden Guilfoil, her husband, Rodney A. Say, her son, Brad Say, brother-in-law, Dwayne Doty, and her sister, Norma Doty.
Her family will greet relatives and friends for a visitation on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Penwell Gabel Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on April 29, 2026, at 1:00 p.m also at the funeral home. A graveside service will take place later that day at Maple Hill Cemetery at 3:00 p.m.
