John Keil Jr. of Topeka, KS passed away December 11, 2023.

He was born March 15, 1932 the son of John & Vera (Smith) Keil in Topeka, Kansas. John graduated from Topeka High School in 1949. He worked for Kansas Inspection Bureau during and after graduation. He applied and received a job with the AT & SF Railroad in 1951.

John married Phyllis J Fulton in 1952, leaving for military service during the Korean War. He completed 38 years of service with the BN & SF railroad and retired in 1989. John also worked for Skinner Garden store as a Registered Landscape Architect.

He is preceded in death by his wife; Phyllis Keil, daughter; Tamara Keil, son; Scot Keil, father; John Keil Sr., mother; Vera Keil.

Survived by his son: Randy (Becky) Keil, daughter in-law; Cheryl Keil, granddaughter; Crystal Keil, grandsons; Christopher (Jess) Keil, Jon Keil and two great grandsons.

Visitation with the family receiving friends will be held from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm, Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at Penwell-Gabel Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Topeka Mid-Town Chapel.

Graveside services will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Topeka Cemetery.
John was a member of Albert Hease #248 and the Scottish Rite and Shriners, also a life time member of Lake Shawnee Golf Course.
