John Michael Driscoll, known to some family and friends as Johnny, passed away on Monday May 11, 2026 in their home at 2:25pm, with loved ones by his side. He was 67 years young.
He was born on December 5, 1958 in Washington DC to John Joseph and Ada Faye Driscoll (Lynch). They later divorced and Ada met and married John Buzzanco, and he became a big part of their lives.
John proudly served in the United States Army from 1976 to 1980. He was stationed in Germany for 2 years and was stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas when he got out.
He lived in Florida where he had a roofing business, eventually leaving that behind and becoming a truck driver, where he drove over the road for several years and ended up at Ruan delivering to Target store and home nightly, depending on the weather or breakdowns.
He met his wife, Jeanette, through a mutual friend. Jeanette and her 2 girls, Krista and Ashton, lived in West Point Nebraska, where he drove through on his way to a Target store. Jeanette and John talked on the phone for a couple of months, becoming friends and deciding to meet. December 27, 2008 they met in person and in October 2009, Jeanette and her girls moved to Topeka, Kansas to be together. They were married on May 18, 2013.
John is remembered for his selflessness and always putting others needs before his own. He is also remembered by his big warm smile, his laugh, and his sense of humor. He was so humble, always going out of his way for others. And he was the best husband EVER.
He was a fan of the Chiefs and Florida Gators. John loved gardening, landscaping, and home projects. He could do anything, except if it involved electronics; he stayed away from that.
John is survived by his loving wife Jeanette, his children, Jason and his wife Crystal Driscoll, and their children, Jack and Cooper, of Chesterfield, VA; Shayna and her husband Oscar Santalo, and their children, Logan, Hadley, and Everly of Winter Garden, FL; Krista Bannister and her children, Daisy and Haven, of Topeka, KS, and Ashton Baker, and her children, Dahlia, Sophia, Roman, and Johnny of Kansas City, MO. Other survivors include his step-father John (Buzz) Buzzanco of Clinton, MD, two sisters, Patti Driscoll-Barber of Melbourne, Florida and Mary Jackson of Tavernier, Florida, brother, Jimmy Driscoll of Lovettsville, VA, as well as his son in law Patrick Bannister of McPherson, KS.
John is preceded in death by his mom Faye Buzzanco and dad John Driscoll.
