Jo Ann Carlson

Jo Ann Carlson, 96, passed away on November 23, 2023 in Topeka, Kansas. She was born on September 23, 1927 to Hubert and Agnes Caspar. She graduated from Junction City High School and moved to Topeka, Kansas where she entered nurses training through the St. Francis Hospital, graduated, and became a Registered Nurse. She worked most of her professional life at the Colmery O'Neil Veteran's Administration Medical Center in Topeka, Kansas. She married Glenn Carlson on July 3, 1948.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Glenn; parents, Hubert and Agnes Caspar; sister, Phyllis Caspar Kotoyantz; and brother, Hubert Caspar Jr.

She is survived by her a sister, Charlene Caspar; two sons, Donald Carlson and Kenneth (Brenda) Carlson; grandsons, Ryan (Dani) Carlson and Kyle (Alyssa Dahmer) Carlson; and great-grandchildren; Brady and Reece Carlson.

Jo Ann loved country life, stray cats that adopted her, and the wild turkeys, squirrels, and deer that enjoyed the birdseed she put out to feed the wild birds.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1pm Friday, December 1, 2023 at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 3601 SW 17th Street, Topeka. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka.
