Jill Glyn Herzog

Jill Glyn Herzog died 21 March 2026.

Born 15 October 1946 to Jesse & Loretta (Hart) McKethen in Topeka, Kansas.

After graduating Topeka High School in 1964, she married 08 February 1966 Norman Clayton Whyrick in Topeka to they had a son, Richard Arland Whyrick. They divorced 05 January 1968. Later, she married the love of her life, Robert Eugene Herzog 07 June 1972. They had one daughter, Jennifer Jo Herzog. Robert passed away 13 October 2008.

Robert encouraged Jill to spend many hours pursuing genealogy. She also did cross stitch, gardening and cryptoquotes, finding spare time to rear her children. She loved her cats and feeding the assorted wild birds and critters outside her home.

She is survived by Richard Whyrick and his wife Marina, Jennifer Krey and her husband Matt, five grandchildren, two step grandchildren as well as her twin Jackee McKethen.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her step-daughter (Karen Langley) and her parents.

Jill is forever thankful to her cousins Ken & Judy Grose, Joyce & Bill Brown and her sister-in-law Peggy Herzog for their support since Robert’s death.

Jill’s family is grateful for the wonderful care that she and her cat, Scamp, was provided these last couple years by Cedarhurst Assisted Living of Topeka, Elara Hospice Services and Kelly “the cat lady”.

Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home is helping with arrangements. At her request, no formal funeral service is scheduled.

Interment at Barclay Cemetery in Osage County next to her husband, Robert.
