Jeannine Marie McKinnon, passed away on May 26, 2026, in Topeka, Kansas. Born on January 25, 1952, in Emporia, Kansas, Jeannine’s journey was one filled with devotion to family, boundless enthusiasm for sports, and cherished connections with those around her.
She married Michael McKinnon on January 9, 1971 in Perry, KS. They had two children, John and William. They later divorced.
A proud graduate of Topeka West High School, Jeannine found early joy in activities that would continue to define her life. She worked diligently as a Machine Operator at Mainline Printing until her retirement in 2018.
Jeannine's heart was deeply intertwined with her passions and pastimes. She was an proud KU fan and cheered on the Kansas City Chiefs, finding excitement in every game. Her love for animals, especially horses, was a testament to her nurturing spirit. Jeannine’s talent and competitive spirit shone brightly in the local pool league, where she earned many trophies over the years.
Above all, Jeannine cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved attending their sporting events and cheering from the stands. Whether vacationing on memorable trips to Disney World in Florida or the sunny shores of Jamaica, occasions with loved ones were the highlight of her days. Her laughter and warmth brought light to every gathering.
She leaves behind her children, John McKinnon and William (Robin) McKinnon and her beloved grandchildren Emma Wiley, Porter McKinnon, and Gavin McKinnon. Jeannine also shared a special bond with her partner, Randy Cummings. She is survived by her siblings, Bob (Dee) Warner, Wayne (Liz) Warner, and Carol Calvin and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles William Warner and Mary Ann Warner, as well as her brother-in-law Phil Calvin.
Family, friends, and all who knew Jeannine are invited to honor her life with a visitation on June 1, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home in Topeka, KS. The funeral service will follow on June 2, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the Penwell Gabel Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at Lyndon Cemetery.
