Jean Hackathorn, 91, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2026.
She was born June 18, 1934, in Alma, Kansas, the daughter of Richard and Elsie (Coxen) Lindburg. She attended Highland Park High School.
Jean worked for the state of Kansas as an Administrative Assistant. Before working for the State of Kansas, she enjoyed being able to stay home with her children.
In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, sewing and decorating wedding cakes. She was a proud follower of the Kansas City Royal's.
Jean married Kenneth Hackathorn on June 25, 1950 in Topeka, KS.
She is survived by her children, Penny (Ray) Tennyson, Tina (Larry) Lewis, Rick Hackathorn and Kelle Wentworth; two grandchildren, Katie and Emily Wentworth; four great grandchildren; siblings, Richard Lindburg and Dorothy Rowley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; her parents and her sister, Nancy Moore.
A memorial visitation will be held from 1:00pm-3:00pm on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at Mount Hope Cemetery Funeral Chapel, 4700 SW 17th Street, Topeka, Kansas. In her honor, memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society 5720 SW 21st, Topeka, KS 66604-3720 , Midland Care 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606 .
