Jacob “Jake” Lewis Huyett Jr. was born on July 15, 1931, and passed away on February 1, 2026.
A graduate of Topeka High School, Jake proudly served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Korea.
He married Carol Mize, the couple divorced. He later married Donna Moore.
Jake learned the art of meat cutting while working at his father’s family grocery store, which began a lifelong career in the beef industry.
Known for his loyalty and warmth, Jake formed friendships that lasted a lifetime. He had a deep passion for Harley-Davidson motorcycles—riding, racing, and sharing countless memories with fellow riders. In his later years, he found great joy spending time at the “Old-Timers” table at Historic Harley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob Lewis Huyett Sr. and Euletta May Huyett; his sisters, Marjorie and Loretta; and his wife, Donna.
Jake is survived by his sons Jacob Lewis Huyett III and wife Lorie, Brent Allen Huyett and wife Barbara, and Jeffery Wayne Huyett. He also leaves behind four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held in March 20, 2026 at 1:00pm at Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka, KS.
