Jacari Prince Erby, a beloved little warrior, graced the world with his presence on September 26, 2025, in Kansas City. His time with us was brief, yet he filled our hearts with immeasurable joy and love until his passing on September 30, 2025, at the University of Kansas Medical Center, surrounded by his cherished family.
While his life was cut short, Jacari's spirit touched everyone who crossed his path. He was adored by the nurses who cared for him, who often joked about their fondness for him, playfully wishing to take him home with them. Such was the charm of this beautiful little boy who could light up even the darkest days. He was not just a child; he was a beacon of hope and laughter, and he will be forever missed by those that were lucky enough to have known him.
Jacari leaves behind his loving mother, Zora Green, and father, LaTrail Erby. He was the treasured brother of Kaleya Erby, whose bond with her little brother will remain eternal. Jacari is also remembered by his grandmothers, Latasha Benfer and LaTanya Johnson, and his great grandmother, Denise Sanders. He was by his grandfather, Ray Green, and surrounded by many aunts and uncles who loved him dearly.
Though he faced challenges that many could never imagine, Jacari's bravery in his little life captured the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to be part of his journey. He shone brightly during his days with us and will continue to shine in the memories and hearts of his family and loved ones. The loss of Jacari, who was also an angel baby brother, leaves an irreplaceable void in the lives of those who adored him.
As we remember Jacari, we do so with heavy hearts yet grateful spirits, forever thankful for the moments we shared with such a remarkable soul. He will remain in our hearts, a beautiful memory forever etched in the fabric of our lives. Rest peacefully, dear Jacari, you will be missed more than words can express.
A Memorial Service to honor his life will take place at 3:00pm Friday, October 17, 2025 at Penwell Gabel Funeral Home, 1321 SW 10th Ave, Topeka, KS 66604.
