Hazel B. Fletcher, 92, Topeka, a wonderful aunt and beloved friend, passed away Monday, Jan. 7, 2008 at Topeka Presbyterian Manor, and will be greatly missed by many.
Born May 26, 1915 in Emporia, the daughter of William James and Martha Emma Prager Yoho, she was one of seven children. Hazel married Lyle Fletcher on Nov. 19, 1942 in Wichita. He passed away December 15, 1966. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings. She is survived by nieces and nephews.
Hazel lived in Emporia, Wichita, and Hays, KS, prior to moving to Topeka in 1955,
She began her career working at Beech Aircraft from 1941-1944. She was Clinic Manager at the Eddy Clinic, Hays, Kansas from 1949-1955. Hazel moved to Topeka in 1955 and worked as Office Manager/ medical secretary for several physicians' offices in Topeka. She ended her professional career as Secretary of the Women's Club in 1994.
She was an active member in the ESA, Epsilon Sigma Alpha International Sorority, for more than 50 years and was a member of the Kansas Medical Assistants Society.
Cremation is planned. At Hazel's request, no memorial service will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society, 2625 NW Rochester Road, Topeka 66617.
