Guy A. Bishop

Guy A. Bishop, 92, of Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2026.

He was born on June 22, 1934, in Wamego, Kansas, the son of Clinton T. and Reva M. (Chapman) Bishop. Growing up he attended Wamego High School where he was a lineman on the football team, lettering his junior and senior year, graduating in 1952.

Guy married Frances “Frankie” (Stewart) Bishop on November 1, 1953 in Wamego, Kansas. Together they spent nearly 70 wonderful years together until her passing on October 30, 2022.

On April 30, 1957 Guy enlisted in the US Army. He proudly served his country until 1963, serving in several locations, including France, growing to the rank of Sergeant.

Guy was a meat cutter at Trivetts in Wamego before moving to Topeka. He worked at several local grocery stores including C&W Meat Market, Holton Country Mart, and several Apple Markets.

Guy was a member of Seabrook Masonic Lodge, Siloam Lodge, Scottish Rite, the Shrine, and attended Crestview United Methodist Church. He enjoyed yard work (best on the block!) and was passionate about hunting with his loyal friends.

A graveside service with military honors will take place on Saturday, October 24, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Mount Hope Cemetery, 4700 SW 17th Street, Topeka, KS, 66604.
