Frank “Frankie” Whitsell III

Frank “Frankie” Whitsell III passed away peacefully of natural causes on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 in Topeka with family by his side.

Frankie was born, January 11, 1981, in Topeka, the son of Frank Whitsell and Teri (Chrisco) Storey. He graduated from Augusta High School and attended the University of Kansas and Washburn University.

Frankie had a love of football and basketball and participated well in both. He also had a keen interest in science and the arts (science fiction, film and music).

He was greatly loved by family and friends. We all appreciated his many natural talents and, most of all, his great sense of humor, empathy and deep love for others. He had a great passion for helping those less fortunate and had a love for animals. Most importantly was his deep and devoted love for his daughters. He felt enormous pride for his girls, and considered them his greatest contribution to this world.

Frankie is survived by his father, Frank Jr.; his stepmother, Trudy; mothers of his daughters and his best friends, Jennifer and Shelly Farnan-Moore; his daughters Macklyn, Avyn and Beazly; his brother Brady Calvin; and sister McKenzie Storey; and several loving aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother; Teri (Chrisco) Storey.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Frankie and his family would request any memorial contributions be made to the Topeka Rescue Mission.
