Ella Morrow

Ella “Ellie” Morrow, age 97, of Topeka, passed away on September 21, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Born on November 25, 1928, in Merricourt, North Dakota, to Jacob and Lydia Bollinger, Ellie was the sixth of their seven children.

Following a proposal on the Golden Gate Bridge, Ellie married Cleo Morrow in May of 1946, and together they raised three children. She devoted herself to their home, focusing on caring for the family and providing unwavering support to Cleo throughout his career, which culminated in his retirement with the rank of Captain in the Kansas Highway Patrol in 1976. After his retirement, they moved to Augusta, Kansas, where they filled their days with friends and family, travel, and more than a few rounds of golf.

After Cleo’s passing, Ellie relocated to Topeka to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She later made her home at Arbor Court Retirement Community at Topeka, where she found comfort, companionship, and plenty of activities she loved — bingo, balloon volleyball, card games, corn‑hole, and crafts.

Ellie is survived by her daughters, Linda Thompson and Tracey Fulkerson, both of Topeka. She leaves behind her grandchildren: Richelle Miller, Nathan Roger, Beth (Jared) Downie, Kylie (Darin) Mason, and Jeff (Patricia) Morrow, as well as multiple great‑grandchildren who brought her tremendous joy throughout her later years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleo Morrow, and her son, Michael Morrow.

A celebration of life will be held at the Mount Hope Cemetery, Funeral Chapel & Reception Center in Topeka on October 10, 2026. The memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception with refreshments.

Memorial contributions may be sent c/o Mount Hope Funeral Chapel, to be distributed by the family to Midland Hospice Care, the Kansas Troopers Foundation, and/or Arbor Court Retirement Community at Topeka in support of their resident activities program.
