Duane Michael Compton

Duane M. Compton, 75, Hutchinson, Kansas passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2026.

Duane was born January 5, 1951, in Topeka, Kansas. The son of George and Eleanor (Carlson) Compton.

Duane was preceded in death by both parents, and a sister, Judith Elaine Compton.

Duane resided in Phoenix, Arizona much of his life at Bethany Ranch Home (co-founded by George and Eleanor), until George retired. The family returned to Kansas in 2000.

Duane has had cerebral palsy since birth. He was very social with anyone he met, and had a tender heart toward animals.

Survivors include a sister, Dianne Leigh Compton and numerous cousins, caregivers and friends.

There will be a private family burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Topeka.
