Diane Gail Kincaid

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Diane Gail Kincaid, who entered the gates of heaven on July 24, 2026, in Topeka, Kansas, at the age of 73.

Born on April 5, 1953, in Topeka, Kansas, Gail dedicated more than 25 years of her life to Hallmark Cards. Even after all those years, she stayed loyal to Hallmark and wouldn’t buy any other brand of greeting card and always checked to see what kind of card you bought for her.

Gail found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved water walking with friends, spending Friday evenings listening to live music at The Classic Bean, but she mostly enjoyed sharing time with the people she loved. Above all, Gail’s faith in the Lord was the foundation of her life. Her kindness, compassion, and quiet strength reflected Christ’s love in everything she did. She never met a stranger, and her gentle heart and warm smile left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Alice Thacker (2020), and her father, Merle Sylvester (1967). As well as other cherished family members who went before her.

She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Westover; her son Chris Kincaid; her grandson, Kyler Kincaid, whom she proudly raised as her own; his wife, Lexie Kincaid; her grandchildren, Calem Westover, Kendall Westover, and Kendall’s wife, Lauren Schaffer; her great-granddaughter, Millie, whose spirit will forever carry a piece of Gail’s love; her brother, Leon Sylvester; and her nieces and nephew, Cherie, Jennifer, and Leon.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Gail’s faith gave her strength, hope and peace. The love she gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and never forgotten.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Reynolds Lodge at Lake Shawnee in Topeka, Kansas. The service will begin at 2:00 p.m., followed by a reception where family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate the beautiful life Gail lived.
