Daniel Wayne Kukovich, a cherished family member and friend, passed away at his home on May 29, 2026. Born on October 29, 1954, in Topeka, Kansas, Daniel's life was marked by an enduring spirit of kindness, generosity, and an unyielding willingness to lend a hand to those around him.

A proud graduate of Highland Park High School in 1972, Daniel furthered his education at Coffeyville Junior College before transferring to Washburn University. His commitment to growth and perseverance was reflected not only in his academic pursuits but also in his remarkable career spanning over 30 years with Goodyear Tire. Throughout his career, he was admired for his dedication and his never-complaining attitude, always ready to have a genuine conversation.

Daniel’s personality left an indelible mark on everyone who encountered him. Known for being likable and outgoing, he never met a stranger and possessed a rare ability to make others feel at ease. His helpful nature was especially evident in his devotion to his stepfather, whom he supported tirelessly. Daniel was not just a great colleague or neighbor; he was the embodiment of kindness and warmth.

His passions were as vibrant as his character. An avid traveler, Daniel delighted in exploring new places, always eager for the next adventure. He loved driving around in his car, savoring the freedom and joy it brought him. Bowling was not only a hobby but a talent he nurtured with pride, often sharing friendly competition with those he loved. Equally cherished were the moments spent watching races at the Kansas Speedway and enjoying dirt track racing alongside his brother, David.

Daniel leaves behind a loving family who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. His brother, David (Silvia) Kukovich, continues to honor the bond they shared. His children, son Dylan Kukovich and daughter Natalie Zeller (Larry), hold close the values and love their father instilled in them. Though Daniel’s parents, Frank (Laura) Kukovich and Lois (Lyle) Florence, have passed on, his legacy lives strong through the memories and stories treasured by all who knew him.

A private burial will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
