Cynthia Sue Couch, age 68, passed away on December 22nd, 2025 leaving behind a legacy of intellect, creativity, and deep devotion to family and friends.

Born on February 18, 1957, in Leavenworth, Kansas, Cynthia lived a life marked by curiosity, determination, and artistic expression. She was a gifted student who attended college on an academic scholarship, spoke French, and pursued a lifelong love of learning. Cynthia earned her Bachelor of Arts in 1980 from Wichita State University, continued advanced studies in Fine Arts and Graduate Studies through 1983, and later completed an Associate of Science in Paralegal Studies in 1985.

Cynthia enjoyed a long and successful career, lasting more than 30 years, culminating in her position as a Senior Corporate Law Analyst with Westar Energy, Inc., in Topeka, Kansas. Her work ethic, intelligence, and professionalism earned her the respect of colleagues throughout her career.

Beyond her professional life, Cynthia was a passionate artist. She found joy in drawing and painting, creating works that reflected both representational and surrealistic styles. Her art was deeply personal and expressive, offering insight into her thoughtful and creative spirit. Her creativity extended beyond her art and into the way she viewed the world—thoughtful, expressive, and deeply observant.

Cynthia is survived by her brother, Jene Couch (Dana Myers); sister, Cathy Couch (Robert Dodge); her beloved niece, Jena Couch Servatius (J.R. Servatius); and her cherished great-nephews Harris Servatius (10), Ryatt Servatius (7), and Baylor Servatius (2). She is also survived by Matt Scherer, a very special friend, along with a host of other loving friends whose lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Couch; mother, Rosemary Couch (Merriweather); her brother, Mike Couch; and her loyal canine companion, Asha Zoe Couch, who held a special place in her heart.

Cynthia will be remembered for her sharp mind, artistic soul, quiet strength, and enduring love for those closest to her. Her memory will live on through her family, her art, and the many lives she enriched.
