Charles Keith McCall, a beloved figure in the community of Topeka, Kansas, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026, at the age of 96. Born on January 15, 1930, Charles dedicated over twenty years of his life as the owner and operator of the Brass Rail Snack Bar, a cherished establishment that became a gathering place for friends and family alike. His warm smile and welcoming demeanor created an environment where everyone felt at home. After the closure of the Brass Rail, Keith went on to dedicate numerous years of service at Bob's Janitorial Service.
A proud graduate of Perry High School, Charles demonstrated resilience and commitment throughout his life. His service in the Army for three years instilled in him the values of duty and discipline, which he carried into all aspects of his life. In 1974, he embraced his faith as a Jehovah's Witness and soon after became an Elder in 1979, helping to guide and support his congregation with loving kindness and unwavering dedication.
Charles was known for his friendly and outgoing personality; he had the remarkable ability to make anyone feel special. He was a man of his word, reliable and always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. His infectious sense of humor, often displayed through his delightfully amusing dad jokes, brought joy to family gatherings and social events alike.
An adoring father, Charles cherished every moment with his family and proudly considered them his greatest accomplishment. He is survived by his daughter, Lynn Hoobler, and a legacy of love through his grandchildren: Azalea, Geoffrey, Natiika, John, Aremis, Preston, Hailey, Lacy, Ashley, and Ryan. Charles also leaves behind many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who will continue to carry forward his spirit.
Charles was known for spending his time tinkering around the house, a trait that exemplified his resourcefulness. He enjoyed working on cars in his younger days, keeping his hands busy as he gardened and cared for his yard. His passion for basketball and loyalty to the Kansas City Chiefs were reflections of his spirited nature, always ready to cheer for his favorite teams.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Sharon McCall, who stood by his side through thick and thin, as well as his parents, Norris and Ada McCall (Younkin). Charles now also joins his late sons, Marc McCall and Larry McCall, along with three sisters and two brothers, and great granddaughter Susie.
As family and friends remember Charles Keith McCall, they celebrate a life lived with gentle grace, humor, and unwavering love. His legacy will forever shine brightly in the hearts of those who knew him.
