Carolyn Mayer Duffer passed away on February 12th, 2026. She was born March 3, 1928 in rural Wetmore, KS to Harvey and Rose (Wegman) Mayer Sr. Carolyn graduated from Wetmore High School in 1945. After graduation she worked at the Quartermaster Depot in KC, MO and the State Board of Health in Topeka. 

She married William J. Duffer on May 31, 1950 in Topeka, KS. 

She is survived by four daughters, Linda (Richard) Strick, Barbara (Dennis) Cole, both of Topeka, Donna (Hal) Blomquist of North Bend, OR and Debbie (Danny) Dollins of Bells, TX. She has 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Rosalie Chase and brother Harvey Mayer, Jr. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a sister, Mildred Beasley, and three brothers, Arlie Mayer, Herbert Mayer, and David Mayer. 

Carolyn enjoyed canning, knitting, sewing, quilting and teaching her daughters how to do the same.

At her request, Carolyn was cremated and will be buried in Wetmore Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Harvesters.
