Carol Irene (Philipp) Ravins, 90, of Topeka, passed away on January 24, 2026 at Homestead of Topeka Assisted Living.
She was born on January 3, 1936 to Reinhold and Ila (Green) Phillip in St. Joseph, Missouri. Carol attended St. Mary's college in Leavenworth, Kansas and St. Francis School of Nursing in Topeka. Her picture hangs in the lobby of St. Francis Hospital with the class of 1956. Carol worked as a Registered Nurse for many years. She worked at St. Francis Hospital for several years and worked at Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine in Lawrence, Kansas until her retirement.
On October 12, 1956, she married her next door neighbor Bernard (Ben) Ravins. Carol and Ben lived in Topeka, Kansas, St. Louis, MO, and Eudora, KS. She was active in a bowling league, enjoyed playing bridge, scrabble, gardening and boating/camping.
She was a very active member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the Dorcas women's group. She was a life-long member of the Missouri Synod Lutheran church.
Carol is survived by her daughters; Renee J. (Jim) Lindsey, Tracy (Jim) Wagner, Beth James, son; Brian Jay (Pam) Ravins, 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She loved her children and grandchildren beyond measure. She was deeply loved by them and they will miss her terribly.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Bernard (Ben) Ravins, father; Reinhold Phillip, mother; Ila Phillip, and brother; David Philipp.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 31, 2026, 10:00 am at St. John's Lutheran Church, Topeka, Kansas. Memories will be shared by family and friends at 10:45 am.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, 11:00 am at St. John's Lutheran Church, 901 SW Fillmore St, Topeka, KS 66606 with Reverend Andy Wright, officiating.
Graveside Service will take place following funeral services at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Society and Hospice Care - Interim Hospice.
