Bertha Mae Thomas

Bertha Mae Thomas, 95, of Topeka, passed away Monday, April 13, 2026.

She was born January 30, 1931, in Dover, Kansas, the daughter of Edgar William and Rowena Pearl (Carmichael) Fisher. She graduated from Highland Park High School. Bertha continued her education at Washburn University.

Bertha dedicated more than 40 years to the Credit Bureau of Topeka. She worked her way up to becoming the Manager and was proud of her accomplishments.

She married Herbert Eugene Thomas on February 2, 1951 in Seneca. He preceded her in death in 1985.

Bertha enjoyed traveling, cooking, gardening and hosting parties.

She leaves behind her niece, Linda McConnell (Chris) and her great niece, Allyson McConnell. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Dale Edgar Fisher.

Honoring her wishes, cremation is planned. In her honor, memorial contributions are suggested to be donated to any local pet shelter.
