Barbara Jo Sipes, 77, of Topeka, KS passed away on August 10, 2018. She was born on August 29, 1940 in Topeka, the daughter of Lloyd and Beatrice Riggin.
She graduated from Topeka High School in 1958. She earned her Bachelors of Science from Washburn University in 1964. In 1971, she took special training at St. Luke's Episcopal School of Blood Bank Technology. In 1974 she received a Master's degree in Pathology from the University of Tennessee and in 1980 a Master's of Business Administration from the University of Kansas.
She was employed as a Medical Technologist at the Topeka Blood Bank, retiring after 40 years.
She enjoyed reading, gardening and pets.
She had one sister, Gail Bishop.
Memorial services and inurnment will be Friday, August 24 at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Hope Cemetery & Funeral Chapel in the Abbey Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church or to Aldersgate Village.
Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
