Alberta "Bert" Mae Walburn

Alberta “Bert” Mae Walburn, 94, of Topeka, went to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully surrounded by her family, on November 23, 2025 at Midland Care Hospice House.

She was born on November 19, 1931 to John and Ruby (Sewell) Howard at Valley Falls, Kansas.

Alberta worked as an Activities Coordinator in Senior Care.

She married Vernon A. Walburn. Alberta and Vernon lived in Topeka, Kansas.

She was a member of Heartland Worship Center and had many friends at Wesparke Village.

Alberta is survived by her; sister; Gale (Jim) Morgan, daughters, Melva (Bob) Bottom, Carol (Bob) Grady, Verna (Steve) Riggin, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; Vernon A Walburn, father; John Wesley Howard, mother; Ruby Alberta Howard, son; Jim Cropper, brothers; John Jr. Howard, Robert D. Howard.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 25, 2025, 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 1321 SW 10th Ave, Topeka, Kansas 66604.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, 1:00 pm at the Penwell-Gabel - Mid-Town Chapel1321 SW 10th Ave, Topeka, Kansas 66604.

Burial will take place following funeral services at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Heartland Worship Center, 1401 NW Harrison, Topeka, Kansas 66608.
