So many memories of Tom racing at the Short Track came flooding back Saturday night while I stood and watched Brian Murphy and Darren Fuqua racing at Heartland Park. I do believe they both acquired alot of their driving skills watching Tom for so many years. I have several pictures of Lil' Danny Cregut, Brian & Teddy Murphy, Darren Fuqua, Angel Sisco, and several others with Tom on Victory Lane at the Short Track when they were ranging in ages from 3 to 10 years old. Tom touched many of our lives in a special way. Race on in heaven my friend until we meet again.

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Tom at Del
Monte for the last 11 years. I remember when I was
new, Tom went out of his way to help me out when a
lot of the other "old timers" wouldn't. I will never
forget that. When I would see him at work, He would
always have a greeting, "Hey, How ya doin", always
friendly, always smiling. He was a good worker, but
more importantly, He was a good man and a good
friend. We will all miss him.

Prayers and thoughts always and forever, an outstanding race car driver I'll never forget, this racing family is enormous RIP.

To Tom Wunder's family. We are so sorry for your loss. My first husband, Ron Freel, passed away in 1988. We had great memories of Tom racing at Topeka Raceway and Lakeside Speedway in those years. He was a great driver and we enjoyed watching him race. I know Ron will be glad to show Tom a couple of trophies I sent with him and talk over old times. Our prayers are with you during this very sad time.

To the Wunder Family;
From all of the Vobach's, we are so sorry for your loss. You have our deepest sympathy and condolences. Tom was truly one of a kind and my Grandfather, Duane/Blow, carried enormous respect for Tom both as a person and a VERY talented regional dirt track race car driver. When Tom, Carl Murphy and Duane Vobach were together as Owner-Driver-Mechanic, they were virtually unbeatable as evident by the countless Feature wins, Mechanic-of-the-Year Awards and the ultimate Season Championships that they won together!!
May Tom rest in peace and may God grant the Wunder Family strength to get through this difficult time.

To the Wunder/Taylor family. I am so sorry for your loss. Tom and I became good friends over the years at work. Over the last several months I was with him everyday. He shared a lot of stories with me of my own father who was one of his teachers in high school. He always had kind words for him. We also shared a passion for racing and I really enjoyed his stories and experiences. I will not be able to attend the services as I will be out of state at the time. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family. I will miss Tom. He was a good man.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I only had a few opportunities to talk with Tom (at company functions) but from what my husband Michael has told me, he was a great guy! He thought the world of him! You all will be in our thoughts and prayers. Take care of each other and try to stay strong in the days ahead.

Your family is in my thought and prayers. Tom was a very nice guy. He and my brother {Fred Hogan} when to school together. He spent may hours in my parents garage working on cars. They also spend a lot of time at Topeka raceway. I remember lots of laughter and joking around, when the boys were together. Many years later Tom recued me from a bad situation. I was very grateful that he was there. He will be greatly missed.
~ Mary HOGAN - May 24, 2011
