In Memory Of
Raquel "Rachel" N. Landavazo
1958 - 2023
As her boys grew older and went to college, Rachel pursued employment outside the home. She worked for Protection One, Westar Energy, and Evergy.
Her faith was important to her and she dedicated time each day to reading her daily devotions. She was an active member of Topeka Bible Church from the time her family moved to Kansas in 1989. Through the years she was involved in many church activities that included serving as a greeter, assisting the mission ministries, and participating in the Christian Women's Club and the Koinonia Class.
Rachel’s children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved spending time with them and watching them grow and participate in various school and athletic activities. Rachel and Armond enjoyed traveling, supporting the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team, and attending Chicago concerts and theater shows. She never missed the opportunity to visit Disneyland when they were visiting family in California and she loved crossword puzzles. Her uplifting and supporting nature will be missed by many.
Rachel leaves behind her husband, Armond Landavazo; her three sons: James (Dana) Landavazo, Adam (Tori) Landavazo and Matthew (Jamin) Landavazo; her adored grandchildren, Nolan, Elaina, Theo, Porter, Sadie, Jonathan and Andrew; mother, Lupe Varela; brother, Paul (Cheryln) Varela, sister Maria (Tony) Olivas and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Jessie Varela and her sister, Elisabet Petty.
