In Memory Of
Alyssa Lee

Alyssa Marie Lee, 16, of Carbondale, passed away unexpectedly Friday, February 17, 2023.

She was born August 29, 2006, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of James and Elizabeth (Mason) Lee.
Alyssa was a junior at Santa Fe High School, where she was very excited to be dually enrolled at Allen County Community College. She was planning a career in the mental health field.

She loved horses her whole life, even working at a ranch during the summer. While at home she enjoyed lounging on the couch, cuddling with her dogs Milo, Shane, and Sawyer, and watching TV and movies with her boyfriend, Kenny. She also enjoyed playing her favorite music on the guitar with her friends.

Her taste in music was broad, ranging from Fleetwood Mac to Taylor Swift and Paramore. Adriana remembers her sister’s favorite album as Taylor Swift’s “Speak Now”. Her family will never again be able to hear some of those songs without feeling Alyssa’s absence.

Both of Alyssa’s siblings have great recent memories about fun with their sister since she has had her drivers’ license. Xander says leaving the house will never be the same without her. Adriana loved trips to the store for junk food and frequent stops as Alyssa’s favorite, Burger King. She was always spoiling her family with gifts with her new found freedom of having a job and a car.

While her family is thankful for the time they had with Alyssa, her absence will leave a hole in their lives. She will always be loved and missed.

Alyssa is survived by her siblings, Alexander and Adriana, and her parents, Jim and Liz Lee, all of Carbondale; paternal great-grandmothers Katheryn Wilson and Janice Thornburg; maternal grandparents Sandy (Toby) Demetriou and Cindy (William) Harrison; paternal grandparents David and Peggy Lee; Aunts and Uncles Christie (Phil) Stone, Stephanie (Eddie) Montoya, Katie (Derek) Dosenberry, Samantha (Brandon) Lee-Woodcox, Austin (Jamie) Curtis, Nichole (Shane) Curtis, Alex (Ashley) Mason, Brandon Mason, and William Mason; Cousins, Dylan and Aidan Stone, Kameryn Franklin, Natalie, Taylor, and Anthony Montoya, Hazel Weatherly, Ezra Woodcox, Rosalyn Hawke, Madelyn Mason, and Hadleigh Curtis. Alyssa was preceded in death by her great grandmother Katherine Clark and her great uncle Paul Garcia.
