Jacqueline L. Cowins, 70, Topeka, passed away peacefully Friday, January 27, 2023.

She was born July 21, 1952, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Clifford Walker and Ida Mae Bugg.
Jacqueline was able to travel the world with her family for 20 years before settling back in Topeka in early 2000s. During this time she also earned her associates degree in medical transcription, and worked in data entry for the state and also worked as a dietician at local nursing homes and schools.

She was loved by many, and touched so many lives. Her family meant everything to her and she welcomed those she loved as part of her family.

Survivors include her children, Joya Cowins-Henry, Angel Norwood, and Janay (Eric) Pierce; her mother, Ida; siblings, Lovely (Ira) Manning, and Andre Baker; grandchildren, Desmund (Alana) Lillibridge, Jayvon Henry, Tyra Norwood, and Tyrell Norwood; great-grandchild, Jacciah Henry; and friend and former spouse, Robert L. Cowins. She is also survived by numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clifford and brother, Anthony Walker.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 am on Friday, February 3, 2023 at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, followed by memorial services at 11:00 am. Inurnment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, 6th & Gage, Topeka.
