Timothy “Tim” J. Voss, 80, of Topeka, passed away Monday, November 21, 2022.

He was born August 6, 1942, in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, the son of Sylvester J. and Gertrude (Dey) Voss. He graduated from Fox Valley Lutheran High School in Appleton, WI and attended Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN. He moved to Lawrence, Kansas in 1962 to work for Reuter Organ Co. In 1967 He moved to Topeka, KS to work for Brackett Inc. He was also employed by Washburn University and the Kansas Expo Center as a sound and lighting technician. He retired in 1995.

In 1963, he married Shirley (Diehl) Voss-Martin. To their union in marriage, they had two children, Brenda and David.

Timothy married Wendilee (Bookholz) Voss on September 15, 2000 in Topeka, Kansas. She preceded him in death in July of 2016.

He is survived by his children, Brenda Kay (Mike) Beaudoin and David John Voss; his children’s mother, Shirley Ann Martin; his grandchildren, Christopher Ryan (Holly) Voss, Kyle Beaudoin, Cristen (Jason) English, Elizabeth Lukowiak and Christopher Lukowiak, Jr.; great granddaughters, Jozelyn English, Jayelyn English and Zelda Voss; daughter in-laws, Patricia Voss and Elizabeth Finch-Voss- Adkins. He was preceded in death by parents.

He will be remember as an awesome father to his kids growing up and enjoyed attending all of their activities. He involved his children in his passion for lighting and sound endeavors, especially his son, Dave. We have good memories of how capable and good he was in helping with anything he could for Miss Betty's dance and gymnastic performances. He also enjoyed going camping, water skiing and traveling.

Honoring his wishes, cremation is planned. A visitation will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Friday, December 2, 2022 at the Penwell Gabel Funeral Home, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66604. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Penwell Gabel Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest at a later date at Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society PO Box 42040, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
