I remember the many times that Teresa and I would meet at Black Bird. These were not planned meetings but they were always delightful. What was just going to be a short visit always developed into at least an hour or maybe even two. Jim would there most times.
I will miss Teresa. I wish Jim and Spencer sincere condolences.

Heaven definitely gained a beautiful angel. Teresa was a classmate of mine in Junction City. Kindness and grace surrounded her and she never knew a stranger. To call her your friend was an honor.
Rest in perpetual light Teresa.

I grew up down the street from Teresa and her son, Spencer - her brightness, humor and kindness were always radiant. I'm so grateful to have grown up in her presence and to have experienced her impact directly through a life-long friendship with her son. My love to all she leaves behind. Her force of life will remain your super power.

Jim,
So sorry for your loss.

Teresa and I worked together for several years at Lexington Park. It’s safe to say we quickly became friends and frequently enjoyed coffee and lunch dates at Blackbird. I will always remember her humor and big heart! Sending my condolences to her family.
Will miss you very much!

Dear Jim & Spencer, I met Teresa when I worked for her in the USD # 501 Speech Dept. in about 2000. Teresa took me under her wing, taught me so much & always supported me. She was so bubbly, creative & positive. Students loved her. Spencer, your Mom was so proud of you & loved sharing your latest acting adventures. Jim, when you two connected, I could tell you were her soulmate. I'm so sorry for your loss & for the loss Teresa's family feels. Teresa's "spark" was felt by everyone who met her !!! May she rest in peace, knowing she lived a great life .
~ Chrystal Brim - June 3, 2022
Spencer,
You are the light that shown in your mom's face and heart. You lit up her world. I'm so sad to hear of the untimely passing of mom. My heart is sad and full of tears. Please reach out so we can have talk time. Pam, Ray, Natalie, Thomas. The McComas and the Gallecier families.

Dear Jim,
I was shocked and saddened to see that Teresa had passed. It seems like yesterday that I visited with you guys on the patio at Blackbirds. Teresa could usually be found there most afternoons with her coffee! Good memories also of our years at Porterfields parties. You take care. I am so sorry.

I have worked with Teresa for as long as I can remember. She was always there to lend a hand and see a few patients when I needed her. She was always so kind, happy and full of life. We always enjoyed catching up and having some good laughs along the way. My heart is broken for you all! I will truly miss her.
~ Teresa Schafer - June 3, 2022
Jim-I so enjoyed reconnecting with Teresa several years ago. As 501 retirees, chatting is automatic and so is friendship. I shall remember our 2 hour "coffees" and her sense of humor, views on life, and care for others. Nice to meet you Jim at the World Cup, which turned out to be our last visit. I will miss my friend but have such good memories of her.

Uff, I can’t even tell you how this fierce woman changed my life when she and Jim walked into it 15 years ago. Living beside my office for 12 years knowing their door was always open to me made each day a pleasure. When I say their door was always open, that’s not a joke. Even if Jim was napping I was always welcome. So MANY chats we’ve had! Appropriate, inappropriate, small, deep, whatever, was the best with her. My head is full of memories, but I digress. I’ll keep our special moments between the two of us, and Jim of course. The love between you two is unmeasurable. I idolized what you shared. Beautiful.
Spencer, you are so incredibly blessed to have had a mom like Teresa. I don’t think she would ever be able to express how much her love, idolization, and gratefulness for the incredible friendship she had with you. She lit up talking about you. Loved that a lot of her conversations with you were when I barged into the apartment, started talking about whatever without ever knowing you were on speaker. She would just let me go without saying a word. Then she’d say, say hi to Spencer. Always made me giggle.
Anyway, I could go on forever telling everyone what you already know. Teresa was so special beyond words. I will miss my friend SO much!
All my love to my friend Jim, Spencer, Carole (mmwah) and family.

I worked with Teresa for several years in home health. Her spirit, her zest for life, her sense of humor and beautiful soul will be missed. We shared lots of laughter and wonderful memories that I will hold dear to my heart. I loved how much she loved Jim and their dates to blackbird cafe, trips to see Spencer and the opportunity to get to know her mother and siblings. You all are a wonderful family and my deepest sympathies are with you.

Teresa was the first neighbor I met when I moved into Fleming Ct. apartments 31/2 years ago. Susan got us together cause she thought we had a lot in common. Teresa was an eclectic designer like me. Then I met Jim, Spencer, Kay and Marc, and Carole. All such good people.
Teresa was going to walk with Kay and I in the park after she recovered with her knee. The 3 of us were going to have lunch this week.
Gary died unexpectedly, too, Jim, Spencer, and Carole. The shock is mind boggling. My thoughts are with you all.
Hugs to you guys,
Becky Miller
